About Markus van Hauten

I’m a self-taught landscape photographer from Germany. I live in the most western part of Germany near the border to Belgium and the Netherlands. Landscape photography is a big part of my life since 2014. In 2016 I won a category in Sony World Photography Awards with one of my Icelandic pictures.

I particularly like Iceland, mountain regions and coasts. To be able to enjoy the fantastic sunrises, special weather conditions in the middle of nature with the camera is always a special contrast to my everyday life. These are moments when I fill up with strength and energy. The results are often images that will stay in my head forever.
