Haida Picture Appreciation | June 2026
This month's Picture Appreciation is here, let's appreciate some amazing photos taken by our excellent official Haida Ambassadors with Haida filters!

I took the photograph entitled “THE LAST GLOW BEFORE THE STORM” was taken at a fjord in Lofoten, Norway
The sky burned one last time, while the cold had already taken hold of everything. I stood between water and stone,
unsure whether to stay or leave. The wind carried the storm closer—but the light held on for just a moment longer.
So I stayed. And captured that final breath of calm before everything disappeared.
I used the ND 0.9 drop-in filter in combination with a 0,9 GND filter from the Red Diamond series.

The rocky beach of Uttakleiv at Lofoten during incoming tide. With each wave the water fows over the rocks, producing a mere centimeters high waterfalls.I used both polarizing filter and a neutral density filter to capture the dynamics of the moments.

«From the Top» | BBavarian Forest/Germany
On a foggy winter morning, the waterfalls in southern Germany are particularly photogenic, as large amounts of water flow down the mountains after the snow melts.

Bruarfoss
Bruarfoss in winter short before sunrise. The water from this waterfall is well known for the fantastic blue color. I used the magnetic ND-filter to reduce the shooting time to 1/15s to get a smoother water flow.

Shiny
It would have been hard to dream of better conditions for a first outing with my brand-new GND filter.
For this first sunset on the Breton coast, the sky offered exactly what was needed: beautiful light, stunning colors, and just the right amount of contrast to put this filter to the test in the best possible conditions.
A huge thank you to Haida Optic for sending me this filter, which is making its very first field appearance here.
