1. Build Quality and Design

The first thing that struck me was the exceptional build quality of the filter itself. A shock proof filter constructed from high-grade optical glass with up to 99.8% light transmission. The filter feels solid and durable. The glass coating which not only improves light transmission but also reduces reflections and flare. The design ensures that there is no vignetting, even when using a wide-angle lens. The metal frame is robust and fits snugly on my lens, allowing other filters to be added to it providing a secure attachment.

2. Performance

In terms of performance, the 82mm UV filter delivers great results. It effectively blocks ultraviolet light, which is particularly useful when shooting in bright outdoor conditions. This feature helps in reducing haze maintaining the integrity and clarity in the images. The filter also serves as a protective layer for my lens, safeguarding it from dust and scratches in environments such as, A windy day at the beach with sand hitting against the front element of the lens, or in thick woodland areas where accidental impacts can occur.
